Order of Operations
If you are reinstalling drivers don’t forgot to uninstall the old and reboot the computer before you install the new ones. Often times it simply comes down to the order of operations; this seems to be especially true with network devices.
- Uninstall old drivers
- Turn off computer
- Remove hardware (If possible)
- Turn on computer and install new drivers (If you couldn’t remove the old hardware cancel the Windows “Found New Hardware” wizard, before installing the new drivers)
- Turn off computer and reinstall hardware
Tip #1 - Don’t Be Scared
There might have been a time when one false move on your computer destroyed everything, some sort of hidden self destruct button, but that is not the case now. Programs and operating systems are designed to protect you from yourself. The computer always asks if you really want to do something and there are few things you can do that would be completely irreversible.
The point is: you will never get comfortable with your computer if you aren’t willing to play around. And you want the secret to answering 90% of your questions and absolving your fears? Look it up online. Want to change the resolution of your screen? want to start you own blog? Type the question in your browser and watch the internet spit out the answer.

The movie Primer is like a large scale Mensa puzzle. If you can figure out what happened in the movie without help you got skills. Interesting story about the filmmaker who is a former engineer and made the movie for $7000!
